After you die, you’ll hear people saying stuff like the stuff I say on [To Record Only Water For Ten Days]… The style of lyric-writing that I write is very often from the perspective of somebody who’s died already. Because essentially I have died already… I feel like I disintegrated at one point, and then I feel like I was dead, and then I was resurrected. There was a point when I didn’t exist. Really spiritually, I felt very empty for about nine months at one point, when I was 27 years old where it felt like I just had no soul anymore… And then when it all came back, when I gathered up all the spirits again that make me me, and really make my life the feeling of what you hear in my music, and my life became that feeling again, I was so happy. The way I did it was just by dancing all the time.
